With warm weather turning the minds of outdoors enthusiasts toward fishing, MyOutdoorTV.com is offering its viewers a new weekly series of original programming on the subject. Outdoor writer/broadcaster Wade Bourne will host Summer Fishing Video Tips on MyOutdoorTV.com, the world’s largest online network of outdoor programming. A new fishing tip will be posted each week through July.
For viewing, visitors should log onto MyOutdoorTV.com and click on the “Summer Series” tab.
“I’m excited about the potential for this streaming video tips series,” Bourne says. “I’ve produced other original tips for MyOutdoorTV.com, and they’ve been very well received. Visits to the website and viewership of these tips have been high.”
The new Summer Fishing Video Tips series will be geared specifically toward fishing in warm weather. Sample tips include “Coaxing more bites on buzzbaits,” “Using current breaks to find fish,” “Learning to flycast in your backyard,” “Horsehead jigs: catch-everything lures,” “Dragging a football jig for bass,” and others. Each tip will run 3-4 minutes in length and will be geared toward basic instruction in the subject offered.

PHOENIX, AZ - The Emmy-award-winning Arizona Wildlife Views TV show will run a new episode on Sunday, February 3, 2008. The program will be in the 4:30 p.m. slot on KAET Channel 8, which is the PBS station in Phoenix, and will be one of a 13 episode season.
Arizona Wildlife Views is a show produced by the Arizona Game and Fish Department to help teach Arizonans about the outdoors around them as well as to inform about practices and techniques used to conserve outdoor Arizona for years to come. This show will include the following segments:

Pursuit Channel will launch in 12-13 million homes in Mid February
A new hunting and fishing outdoor network that aims to be both producer and advertiser friendly is scheduled to launch on DISH in Mid February. The Pursuit Channel is a complete Hunting and Fishing network catering to the outdoors that will be exclusive to DISH and will be available as a basic channel, free to almost all DISH Network subscribers across the nation.
“DISH is a natural home for the Pursuit Channel and we are honored to be part of their network.” Stated President Mark Corcoran. “It has been my experience while traveling across America, that many lodges, homes, and campgrounds have a DISH stationed on their roof”.
The Pursuit Channel programming guidelines have been created to provide both producers and advertisers with a platform which will allow them to adequately market new products while still providing viewers with entertaining and engaging programs.

Frankfort, Kentucky – Biologists with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources are joining forces with landowners and members of Quail Unlimited in an effort to restore the state’s bobwhite quail population. “Kentucky Afield” airs a progress report from Webster County this Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 12 and 13.
Also scheduled on the program, Host Tim Farmer meets with Jackie Tynes in Hardin County to show the importance of edge habitat for rabbits and rabbit hunting. Elsewhere, Randall Gibson puts Farmer on big smallmouth bass at Dale Hollow Lake.

ESPN2’s 2008 Outdoors Programming Includes Fishing with President Bush, Doug Flutie, Coverage of Bassmaster Classic
Building on its rich tradition of more than 25 years of outdoors programming, ESPN Outdoors will continue to bring the latest when-to, where-to and how-to information with entertaining and exciting shows, some new and some familiar, on ESPN2, presented in high definition.
The top-notch programming kicks off with a bang. The third episode of Offshore Adventures, which airs Sunday, Jan. 13, will feature President Bush and husband-and-wife hosts Chris and Melissa Fischer searching for striped bass on the Chesapeake Bay out of St. Michael’s, Md.
In February, ESPN2 delivers live coverage of bass fishing’s premier event, the 2008 Bassmaster Classic, set for Feb. 22-24 on South Carolina’s Lake Hartwell. ESPN2 will air more than 11 hours of coverage from the event, which awards $500,000 to the winner.
The ESPN Outdoors show lineup also includes new episodes of fan-favorite shows, such as Driven to Hunt and World’s Greatest Fishing Show.
“We will continue to serve outdoors fans with quality programming,” said Todd Myers, director of programming for ESPN Outdoors. “We are excited about the strong mix of shows that will provide solid information that can be applied in the outdoors.”
Also in February, during Super Bowl week on Feb. 2, Beat Charlie Moore, the popular show in which Moore challenges local anglers to try to beat him on their home waters, will feature former NFL quarterback great Doug Flutie.
Saturdays are anchored by the Bassmaster Tournament Trail, a one-hour show after each of the 2008 season’s 11 Bassmaster Elite Series events, the most prestigious level of tournament fishing. Also on Saturdays, World’s Greatest Fishing Show, with ESPN Outdoors television personality Mark Zona, brings the excitement of recreational fishing to fans.
On Sundays, when hunting programming kicks off in July, ESPN Outdoors will feature the return of Driven to Hunt, a popular, 30-minute weekly program that follows NASCAR’s top drivers, owners and crew chiefs into the field for challenging adventures with television’s top hunting hosts: Bill Jordan, David Blanton and Michael Waddell of Realtree Outdoors.
Also from Team Realtree, the top-rated Realtree Outdoors, one of the longest running outdoors programs on cable television, will be packed with product information and hunting tips from the Realtree pros.
Host Tom Miranda is back with Territories in the Wild, formerly known as Advantage Adventures. An expert bow-hunter, Miranda goes toe-to-toe with some of the world’s most dangerous animals, offering viewers some of the most exhilarating hunting experiences.
In 2007, fishing fans had a chance to bid farewell to The Fishin’ Hole presented by Stihl, which had been on for 25 years. Show host Jerry McKinnis retired and the second-longest running show on ESPN behind SportsCenter ended its legendary run.

Archery hunters enjoy a season lasting nearly four months to take a deer in Kentucky. We go into the woods for some of the triumphs and frustrations the season brings this weekend, Dec. 8 and 9 on “Kentucky Afield” television.
Host Tim Farmer carries his bow and his patience through Boone, Woodford and Franklin counties for a shot at a doe. With the factors of weather and missed opportunity, we learn that wild game moves on its own schedule. For the archer, it pays to be drawn and ready.
In the western coalfields, Farmer joins two-time world champion archer Jennie Richardson in pursuit of wild turkey. Richardson serves as Kentucky’s National Archery in the Schools Program coordinator, a program that reaches thousands of students each year with Olympic-style archery. The archery ace reflects on her accomplishments and the difference the sport is making for kids statewide. Kentucky’s school archery championship is scheduled for March 18, 2008.

This week’s Hunter’s Handbook TV on Versus Network addresses the challenge of safely and securely transporting your firearms with guest expert Al Chandler from TruckVault. Before Al’s visit, NSSF President Doug Painter gives us a tour of the shooting sports and many of the programs the Foundation sponsors in support of hunters and shooters.
This episode airs on Tuesday and Thursday at 8:30 AM and Sunday at 7:30AM Eastern, only on Versus.
December rounds out the fourth successful season of Hunter’s Handbook TV, as it brings to life the pages of Hunter’s Handbook, the Official Student Publication of the International Hunter Education Association. The show not only promotes safety in the field and on the range, but gives viewers in-depth information and instruction on a broad array of hunting disciplines.
Remaining episodes of this season will feature Safari Club International, the Annual IHEA Youth Hunt and air gun competition with a visit to a 4-H Shooting Club.
Each segment of the show is enhanced with field footage, demonstrating the instructional and educational presentations from the visiting experts, making the learning experience interesting and easy to comprehend. Each episode ends with a “Safety Tip of the Week” from the International Hunter Education Association.

Stamford, Connecticut — VERSUS reported record numbers for its VERSUS Country holiday programming marathons on Thursday, November 22 and Friday, November 23, featuring turkey hunting and whitetail hunting, respectively. The ratings were the best Thanksgiving Thursday and Thanksgiving Friday daytime performances ever (Households, Total Viewers, Key Men Demographics). The average HH Impressions for Thursday were up 77 percent over last year, while impressions for Men 25-54 were up a staggering 125 percent from last year. Two shows, North American Hunter and Winchester Legends, had the highest HH ratings ever for outdoor programs on the network Monday-Friday during the daytime (7am-7pm). Friday’s ratings were just as impressive as average HH Impressions saw an increase of 119% from 2006.
